Tail wagging doesn't always mean happy

Stiff high wag = tension. Slow low wag = uncertainty. Only loose mid-height wag = genuine happiness.

2

The 'whale eye' warning most owners miss

White sclera visible in a crescent shape = your dog is uncomfortable. Common when children hug dogs. Respect the signal.

3

Never punish a growl — it's a gift

A growl is your dog saying 'something is wrong' before escalating. Remove the warning and you get bites without warning.

4

5 minutes of observation changes everything

Watch your dog without interacting. Count how many signals you spot. You'll see a whole conversation you've been missing.
