Bangalore pet parents spend between ₹2,500 and ₹12,000 on vaccinations in the first year depending on where they go. The gap is enormous — and mostly driven by clinic type, not vaccine quality.

Government vs private — what's the real difference?
BBMP Veterinary Hospitals (Hebbal, Malleswaram, Yelahanka) offer core vaccines at subsidised rates. The vaccines themselves are the same — Nobivac, Canigen, or equivalent. What differs is the experience: longer waits (45-90 min), basic facilities, and less personalised attention. But the medical outcome is identical.
Private clinics (₹400-700 per vaccine) offer shorter waits, better handling, and often include a basic health check with each visit. For anxious puppies or first-time owners, this matters.
Premium hospitals (Cessna Lifeline, CUPA Trauma Centre) charge ₹800-1,200 per vaccine but include comprehensive wellness exams, weight tracking, and digital records. If your dog has health concerns, the premium is justified.
The complete first-year cost by clinic type
| Puppy Series (5 visits) | Government | Private | Premium |

| Consultation fees (5 visits) | ₹0-500 | ₹1,500-2,500 | ₹2,500-5,000 |
| Total Year 1 | ₹800-1,950 | ₹3,800-6,250 | ₹6,600-11,400 |
Bangalore area-wise vet pricing
Prices vary by area. Clinics in Indiranagar, Koramangala, and Whitefield tend to charge 20-30% more than HSR Layout, Banashankari, or Yelahanka. This isn't always about quality — it's about rent. A good vet in Banashankari gives the same vaccine as a good vet in Indiranagar.
When to save and when to spend
- Save on routine vaccines — Government clinics for DHPPi and Rabies. Same vaccine, lower cost.
- Spend on first visit — A thorough first-vet consultation (₹500-1,000) catches issues early. Worth every rupee.
- Spend on emergencies — Premium hospitals with ICU capability for anything beyond routine.
- Save on annual boosters — Once your dog is established with a vet, annual boosters at private clinics (₹1,500-2,500 total) are the sweet spot.
